Sunrise Toastmasters 11-14-2014 Rewind & Fast-Forward 11-21-2014

Hello Sunrise Toastmasters members,
Below is a quick rewind of our meeting held on Friday Nov 14, 2014. The meeting was held at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in meeting room NT102A .
we started at 7:00 a.m.We had a total of 12 members and one guest present at our meeting.
President  Angela Lingon opened our meeting and advised everyone to take every opportunity to speak in front  of groups. She then turned the meeting over to toastmaster for the day Esther Khoury. Her word for the day was “Pun”. The meaning of a pun is “A from of word play that suggests two or more meanings, by exploiting multiple meaning of words, or of similar-sounding words, for an intended humorous or rhetorical effect”. She used this as the theme for the meeting and several speakers incorporated puns into their speeches as well.
Our first speaker was Joe Stack and the title of his speech was “Locks of the Future “. Working from the speaking to inform manual project #3. Joe Stack did a product demonstration of Kwikset smart key locks. Some of the smart key features he spoke about were compatibility with the IPhone and re-keying locks in 30 seconds of less.
Our second speaker was Ying Na  and the title of her speech was ‘Investing Basics”. Working on the speaking to inform manual project # 1. She spoke about saving and investing in a financial settings and also expanded on what is involved in becoming an investor.

Phil Stringer led us in table topics and set up questions similar to NPR show “wait wait don’t tell me”.
