Our President elect, Toastmaster Amelya Black, opened the meeting, leading us deliberately to our minute of silence in acknowledgement and support of the Black Lives Matter movement, allowing us to reflect on what could have happened to the families formerly living in the Freeman Homes community. Amelia cleared any doubt on flagging bias, reminding us how to use our bias flag to support our journey to become better speakers, and transitioned the meeting to the day’s Toastmaster Abdulrahman Albazie. Abdulrahman chose Ritual as the word of the day, encouraging use of this word during the meeting, shared the agenda, and another memorable Sunrise Toastmasters meeting began.
Toastmaster Renuka Korlipara introduced the day’s fist speaker. Stiles Burr shared the top communication styles, the style most favored by Stiles, and the harmony shared being the ultimate goal in this lively entertaining and informative speech.
Toastmaster John Doggett introduced our second speaker, Toastmaster Norris Bass shared an exemplary speech focusing on mentors and the invaluable rituals learned in the early day’s of employment. As noted by past mentors, reminding us to keep it simple Toastmasters!
Toastmaster Maria Leon hosted Table Topics, engaging and challenging Toastmasters and guests in conversation to strengthen our ability to compose thoughts and speak intentionally, sharing rituals of the weekday.
Toastmaster Amelia Black served as General Evaluator, summarizing the breakfast of champions portion of meeting with the thoughtful insights, leading the team in sharing feedback and reports. Toastmaster’s Renuka and John did a phenomenal job providing evaluation feedback to each speaker. Toastmaster Savannah Murphy provided the Timer report and Toastmaster Kelly Gentry shared the Grammarian report – well done, team!
Abdulrahman reviewed roles for next week and thanked everyone for their participation in another amazing Toastmasters meeting before transitioning to Amelya to close the meeting.
