Our President, Summer Murphy, opened the meeting with insights about measures aimed at limiting or discouraging the participation of certain individuals or groups in the electoral process, which was followed by a moment of silence. Summer also clarified the purpose of the Bias Flag and encouraged its utilization to support our journey of becoming better speakers. Toastmaster Stiles Burr then took the lead, introducing the word of the day, “optimism.”
Toastmaster Summer Murphy introduced our first and only speaker, Toastmaster Kerstin Haase. In her speech titled “Lionism Begins with The Leader in You,” Kerstin shared her experience and leadership to highlight the significance of community support, recognizing individuals for their contributions, and engaging in self-reflection, emphasizing the transformative power of leadership in fostering stronger communities. Summer provided feedback, offering insightful suggestions for improvement.
Toastmaster Abdulrahman Albazie led an engaging table topics questions by asking questions that would spark spontaneous responses to strengthen our ability to compose thoughts and respond to impromptu questions, and he got everyone to participate, even himself!
Toastmaster Renuka Korlipara served as General Evaluator, providing feedback on the meeting. Toastmaster Tim Murphy delivered the Timer report, ensuring timely segments. Toastmaster Dave Burr shared the Grammarian report, highlighting language usage. Impressive teamwork!
Stiles reviewed the upcoming week’s roles and smoothly handed over to Summer to adjourn the meeting.
