Rewind and Fast Forward

04.25.14 Rewind. . . Angela Ligon, our Vice President of Education, began our meeting in a Boy Scout inspired, “Alive, Awake, and Enthusiastic” manner and encouraged everyone to “Be Prepared” for an exceptional meeting with newcomers fulfilling first-time roles.   Lanre Adefolaju served as a superior first-time Toastmaster and  announced an upcoming change to his family; He and his wife, Rachel, are expecting!  Congratulations!  Summer Murphy presented an incredible icebreaker entitled, “On Being Brave”.  She confidently presented her speech and shared advise she received,  as a leader “You don’t have to be aggressive, just brave.”  We learned more about Ying Na and her journey of following her dreams in her 6th speech, “Don’t Follow Your Dreams.”  Robert Hickling led a successful and thought-provoking sports themed Table Topics.  Special thanks to Tim Murphy, Angela Ligon and Tom Loughlin, and Joe Stack for serving in evaluation roles.  We had a total of 11 members at the meeting and missed those who were not in attendance:  Alvin, Dramaine, Esther, and Mike.

05.02.14  Fast-forward. . . Please join us as Alvin Powell serves as Toastmaster.  Robert Hickling will present his second speech and Steve Stevens will be serving as Table Topics Master.  Many others of you have also confirmed your roles shortly. Thank you all in advance!  I also like to highlight and congratulate Tom Louglin for running for Lt. Governor of Education and Training for Toastmaster’s District 37.  Let’s wish him luck and many votes at this weekend’s Spring Conference.  Remember – bring a guest – as all guests are always welcome.
