Hello Sunrise Toastmasters members,Below is a quick rewind of our meeting held on Friday Nov 7, 2014. The meeting was held at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in meeting room NT102A and we started at 7:00 a.m.
We had a total of 12 members and two guest present at our meeting.
President Angela Lingon opened our meeting and asked everyone to introduce ourselves and say one thing we are thankful for. She then turned the meeting over to toastmaster for the day Steve Stephens. His word for the day was “Fusty” and his theme for the day was “getting through the forest’.
Our first speaker was Brett Williams and the title of his speech was “Lt Dan” He asked everyone to put on their counseling and training hat and join him in his counseling and diverse population class presentation. The speech was based around the character of Lt. Dan in the movie Forrest Gump. Brett described Lt Dan life story, diagnosed his condition and concluded with counseling advice to cope with his situation.
Our second speaker was Phil Stringer and the title of his speech was ‘IALAC’. Working on the Component Communication Manual project #10. He talked about how finding happiness and peace in our lives is by dedicating ourselves to bringing that in the lives of others. Congratulations to Phil Stringer on finishing his Competent Communication Manual
Divya Bhagat lead us in table topics. Her theme was based on philosophical life questions.
