Hello Sunrise Toastmasters members,
Below is a quick rewind of our meeting held on Friday Feb 13, 2015. The meeting was held at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in meeting room
NT102A and started at 7:00 a.m
We had a total of 13 members and two guest present at our meeting.
President Angela Ligon opened our meeting and turned it over to Tim Murphy our Toastmaster for the morning. His word of the day was ‘Dyad’. He asked us to introduced ourselves and let attendees know we type of work we do along with what keeps us coming back to Toastmasters each week.
Our first speaker was Lolita Henley. She spoke from the competent communicator manual-speech #1. This was her Ice Breaker speech. Lolita spoke about growing up in the housing projects of New York, graduating at the top of her college class and then being a victim of domestic violence. After that experience she decided she would shower everyone she meets with love.
Our second speaker was Robert Hickling. He along with Dr. Sendil Krishnan presented the Cone Health portion of their presentation “Physician/Administrator Management Dyad ” they will be giving at the Hospital Medicine ’15 national conference for the Society of Hospital Medicine. They anticipate 200 attendees at their presentation.
Steve Stephens led us in table topics. The questions were designed so members could get to know each other a little better. For example one of the questions was “What are the three things that would help someone remember who you are?”
Thanks to Divya Bhagat and Phil Stringer for serving as evaluator and to Esther Khoury for being general evaluator. Thanks to Mike Stipanov for serving as Timer/Grammarian.
