Sunrise Toastmasters May 15, 2015 and May 22, 2015 Fast Forward

Hello Sunrise Toastmasters members,

Below is a quick rewind of our meeting held on Friday May 15, 2015. The meeting was held at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in meeting room NT102A and started at 7:00 a.m

We had a total of 11 members and one guest present at our meeting.

Vice President of Eduction Summer Murphy opened our meeting and turned it over to Dave Burr Toastmaster for the morning. His word of the day was “Deluge” and he talked about rainfall totals from around the world.

Our first speaker was Dustin Johnson. He spoke from the competent communicator manual project #1 (ice breaker) and the title was “In For Ten”. He talked about himself, his life goals and his committment to make 10 speeches at toastmasters no matter how long it took.
Our second speaker was Tim Murphy. He spoke from the competent communicator manual project #10 and the title was “We are All Architects of Our Own Futures”. He talked about the 10-10-10 rule and how people make better decisions when they think about themselves in the future. A big reason he wanted to be a part of Toastmasters was because he was around people who aspire to better themselves.

Steve Stephens led us in table topics. His questions were base on the TV show hosted by Steve Harvey- Family Feud. His questions ranged from “would you rather be a parent or a child” to “If you could give away one of your spouses possessions what would it be”.

Thanks to Ying Na and Angela Ligon for serving as evaluator and to Summer Murphy  for being general evaluator. Thanks to Cinthia Torres for serving as Timer/Grammarian.
