President Summer Murphy opened the meeting with a glimpse of the Black Girls Code, which focuses on providing technology education for African-American girls, leading us deliberately to our minute of silence in acknowledgement and support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Summer cleared any doubt on the bias flag, encouraging us to use it to support our journey of becoming better speakers, and transitioned the meeting to Toastmaster Dave Burr. Dave chose attribute as the word of the day.
Toastmaster Tim Murphy introduced the first speaker, Toastmaster John Doggett. John shared a speech titled ‘eat more chocolate’, about research and credible information from credible sources proving eating chocolate can be good for your health. Tim shared feedback on areas of excellence and improvement. Great job, Toastmasters!
Summer introduced our second speaker, Toastmaster Karen Rhodes. Karen gave a speech tilted ‘Back to Reality’, sharing the depth of conspiracy theorists and how to navigate their invasion on life. Summer shared feedback, providing guidance on areas of excellence and improvement. Excellent!
Table Topic Master, Toastmaster Luz Bigelow, led an engaging question and answer session and got everyone to participate. Well done, Luz!
Toastmaster Kerstin Haase served as the General Evaluator, summarized the breakfast of champions portion of the meeting with thoughtful insights, and led the team in sharing feedback and reports. Toastmaster Stiles Burr provided the Timer report. Toastmaster Savannah Murphy shared the Grammarian report, spotting the use of filler words, the word of the day, and noting the outstanding quotes and thoughts. Amazing work, Toastmasters!
Club Treasure Toastmaster Tim Murphy gave an advanced notice about the upcoming membership renewal and shared that there are no club fees this time due to the price increase for the membership.
Dave reviewed roles for next week and transitioned the meeting to our president to close the meeting.
