Our esteemed Vice President of Education, Toastmaster Summer Murphy, opened the meeting leading us intentionally into our minute of silence in acknowledgement and support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Summer shared how we can use our bias flag to support our journey to become better speakers, transiting the meeting to the day’s Toastmaster Renuka Korlipara. Renuka introduced chose Beauty as the word of the day, encouraging us to use this word during the meeting. Introductions were made welcoming Kelly to the meeting, roles for the agenda reviewed, and another memorable Sunrise Toastmaster’s meeting began.
Summer introduced our first speaker, Toastmaster Stiles Burr. Stiles shared a speech taking us on a journey of unknown steps taken in life and revealed setting yourself apart can be both beautiful and inspiring.
Toastmaster Tanuja Reddy introduced our final speaker, Toastmaster Maria Leon. Maria shared a delightful speech from a dog’s perspective, the early years of childhood and how innocent antics can simply just be a part of growing up.
Summer and Tanuja did a phenomenal job providing their evaluation feedback, sharing strengths of each speaker, and ways to improve their public speaking in the future. Thank you both!
Toastmaster Norris Bass hosted Table Topics, engaging the Toastmasters to share their story exceptionally, strengthening our ability to compose thoughts and speak conversationally. Great job!
Toastmaster Angela Marsh served as General Evaluator, summarizing the meeting with thoughtful feedback that helped everyone continue to improve and led the team sharing feedback and reports. Toastmaster Dave Burr provided the Timer report and Toastmaster Savannah Murphy shared the Grammarian report – well done everyone!
Toastmaster Renuka reviewed roles and thanked everyone for their participation in another amazing Toastmasters meeting before transitioning to Summer to close the meeting.
The next Sunrise Toastmasters meeting will be at 7 am, February 3rd EST on Zoom.
