Our President, Summer Murphy, opened the meeting and provided a brief overview of the history of the Black Lives Matter movement, which was followed by a moment of silence. Summer also clarified the purpose of the Bias Flag and encouraged its utilization as a means for personal growth. Toastmaster Tim Murphy then took the lead, setting an enthusiastic tone with the word of the day, “resolve.” Each participant briefly shared their 2023 resolutions.
Toastmaster Stiles Burr introduced our first speaker, Toastmaster Tina Joe. Tina shared a speech titled “When You Don’t Know You Don’t Know,” telling us about her experience as a protoje. Stiles provided feedback, offering insightful suggestions.
Toastmaster John Doggett introduced our second speaker, Toastmaster Kerstin Haase, who delivered a speech on the New Year’s resolutions. John provided feedback, offering constructive insights and suggestions for improvement.
Toastmaster Dave Burr led an engaging table topic question session by asking questions that would spark spontaneous responses to strengthen our ability to compose thoughts and respond to impromptu questions. Great job, Dave!
Toastmaster Savannah Murphy served as General Evaluator, providing feedback on the meeting. Toastmaster Summer delivered the Timer report, ensuring timely segments. Toastmaster Norris Bass shared the Grammarian report, highlighting language usage. Impressive teamwork!
