We had an excellent meeting today! Alvin opened the meeting and David served as Toastmaster, giving us “memorialize” as the Word of the Day. Dave was our first Speaker, with a speech titled, “Hip Hop Hooray,” and Mike was our second Speaker, with a speech about the mentor/mentee (or mentor/protégé) relationship. Karen led us in Table Topics with additional “words of the day.” Alvin was our General Evaluator, our two Speaker Evaluators were Karen and Bettina, and Timer/Grammarian was Savannah; each gave a helpful evaluation of the day’s activities.
At the end of the meeting we talked about moving to a one-speaker format for the summer (June and July…but actually starting on May 31) while people are in and out of town. More to come on that, from Savannah. If at any point you would like to give a second speech on a day when we only have one speaker, don’t worry! We will make it happen!
