7.11.14 Rewind. . . Our first meeting of the new Toastmaster fiscal year, included 14 attendees including two visitors. We welcome Jim and Carson. Along with the Sunrise Club, there are many other vaunted clubs in the area; Thank you for visiting us and we hope you will return. As Toastmaster, Mike Stipanov led a full meeting with two great presentations. First, Ying Na presented her 8th speech, entitled “Why Invest in a Mutual Fund”. The presentation was easy to follow and full of helpful knowledge. Then, Tim Murphy gave a practice keynote speech which he will tweak and later deliver to an audience of middle school students, parents, and faculty. Not only was did this provide a great opportunity for him to perfect his speech, it was also a gave us a great opportunity for provide him with valuable input. This is an exceptional way to utilize the Toastmasters’ club. Alvin Powell asked provocative questions during Table Topics and helped us expand our thinking about healthcare. Our Immediate-Past President, Dramaine Freeman was surprised with a presentation of “the bag” and a plaque thanking him for his year of service. Thank you to Summer Murphy, Dramaine Freeman, Phil Stringer and Griselda Flores for serving in evaluation roles.Additionally, I would like to thank our new officers for hitting the ground running. As the current President, I appreciate your commitment to Sunrise Toastmasters and for already being very active in your roles. THANK YOU!
