Sunrise Toastmasters 1-16-15 Rewind & Fast-Forward 1-23-15

Hello Sunrise Toastmasters members,
Below is a quick rewind of our meeting held on Friday Jan 16, 2015. The meeting was held at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in meeting room
NT102A and started at 7:00 a.m.

We had a total of 14 members and one guest present at our meeting.

President  Angela Lingon opened our meeting and turned it over to Joe Stack our Toastmaster for the morning. His word of the day was ‘Steep’. He encouraged us to start drinking tea and gave us many reasons why.

Our first speaker was Brett Williams . He spoke from the competent communicator manual-speech #3. The title of his speech was ‘Resolutions? Not for Me”. He spoke about no longer making new years resolution but having words to live by. His words were love, confidence, acceptance, forgiveness, contribution and focus.
Our second speaker was Mike Stipanov. He spoke from the entertaining speaker manual-speech #1. The title of his speech was “A new Experience from my 20/60 life-The Enlightened Cyclist.” He told us a funny story about his ups and downs of getting into biking.

Richard Schmidt led us in table topics. He asked questions based on statistics that contradicted long held beliefs in America society.

Thanks to Robert Hickling and Angela Ligon for serving as evaluator and to Dave Burr for being general evaluator. Thanks to Jenna Willingham for serving as Timer/Grammarian.
