Our esteemed VP Public Relations, Toastmaster Greg Sutton, opened the meeting intentionally leading us into our minute of silence in acknowledgement and support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Greg reminded us how we can use our bias flag and transitioned the meeting to the day’s Toastmaster Stiles Burr. Stiles chose Persistent as the word of the day and encouraged us to use this during the meeting, we reviewed roles and another Sunrise Toastmaster’s meeting began.
Toastmaster Tim Murphy introduced our first speaker, Toastmaster Tanuja Reddy. Tanuja shared a wonderful speech on the journey welcoming Noah into the world and a multi-generational home. Content was perfect, grammar and humor were there, excellent speech Toastmaster, was feedback shared by Tim.
Toastmaster John Doggett introduced our final speaker, Toastmaster Norris Bass. Norris shared a persuasive speech on Downs and Autism, sharing facts and personal experiences. Content was great, always positive when you can bring awareness and encourage support of a local business. Well done, great speech Toastmaster, was feedback shared by John.
Toastmaster Kerstin Haase hosted Table Topics, engaging the Toastmasters to share their experience based on random questions on the topic of persistence while strengthening our ability to compose thoughts and speak conversationally.
Toastmaster Summer Murphy served as General Evaluator, summarizing the meeting with thoughtful feedback that summarized the meeting succinctly, and led the team’s sharing of feedback and reports. Toastmaster Dave Burr provided the Timer report and Toastmaster Renuka Korlipara shared the Grammarian report – well done everyone!
Toastmaster Stiles thanked everyone for a great meeting, and transitioned the meeting back to Toastmaster Greg. Greg posted roles for next week and thanked everyone for their participation in another amazing meeting before closing the meeting.
The next Sunrise Toastmasters meeting will be at 7 am, November 18 EST on Zoom.
