For those in attendance this morning, which there were quite a few, you got to an enjoy a fantastic meeting with a few surprises along the way. With a full agenda and packed house, Steve did a fine job running the meeting as toastmaster and offering up the word of the day “gravid.” Alvin provided an informative speech on how to handle the evaluator role through motivation. As our second speaker, Dave took us back to a life altering event he experienced during his time in San Diego many years ago. Angela served as table-topics master and her questions centered on…well, questions. As for the surprises, the word of the day stumped our resident language expert (Karen), the first table topics question resulted in a pass by one of our most distinguished speakers (Tim) and as Tim was in the middle of giving an incredible re-do table-topics performance we briefly evacuated the building due to the fire alarm going off. We also had the nice surprise of first time visitor, Allison, joining the club.
All in all, an excellent meeting and great jumpstart to the weekend. Below are the roles for next week as well as our meeting on 5/18. Please contact Norris, our upcoming toastmaster, with any schedule adjustments. See you next Friday!
