05.09.14 Rewind . . . Joe Stack enthusiastically opened this morning’s meeting with beer. . . as the theme. More specially, North Carolina brewed beer and he nicely tied in his word of the day, anaerobic, with the topic. Ying Na’s “Walk Talk” presentation, revealed many compelling and fact filled reasons to choose walking as a form of exercise. Phil Stringer, aided by a skilled visual presentation, revealed interesting details about misinformation and disinformation, in his speech entitled, “Important Information You Need to Know.” Just in time for Mother’s Day, Summer Murphy asked unique and thought-provoking questions about our mothers or mother figures. Special thanks to our General Evaluator, Tim Murphy, who provided valuable input regarding our meetings (always have evaluation forms, always introduce ourselves when approaching podium, always acknowledge previous speaker, and allow for theme to easily weave through the meeting). Thank you also to Mike Stipanov, Steve Stephens, and Angela Ligon for serving in other evaluation roles.
***Did you intend to reach out to someone last week and you didn’t? Do you wish you had more time? We all appreciate additional opportunities, here’s your chance…. Did someone’s speech today impact you? Did someone’s participation make a difference? Did you relate to how someone answered a question during Table Topics? Are you thankful for our officers and members? Did you especially miss someone’s attendance? Before next Friday, I encourage you to reach out to one (or more!) of our your fellow members and let them know how they are making a difference at the Sunrise Toastmaster’s club.***
