5.23.14 Rewind . . . Robert Hickling successfully led his first meeting as Toastmaster and educated us on palliative care. Great job, Robert. Joe Stack presented his 9th speech, “For the Love of Spice” and shared with us many spices that he and his fiancee use in their daily cooking. Very interesting, Joe! Summer Murphy passionately give a pocket speech on the Alice program and advised us of local Alice workshops for young women. Fantastic job on your second speech, Summer! As Table Topics Master, Phil Stringer humorously introduced us to some unknown holidays and encouraged our creativity. Thank you to Dramaine Freeman, Alvin Powell, Angela Ligon and Dave Burr for serving in evaluation roles during this meeting of 11 members and one guest. Welcome, Grisleda Flores, we loved having you as a guest at our meeting.
5.30.14 Fast-forward . . . Summer will be serving in the Toastmaster role for the first time and Lanre will present his final speech at our club. As he announced last week, he has accepted out-of-state employment. Congratulations, you will be missed! Toastmaster Summer Murphy has confirmed everyone’s roles. Again, let’s support Summer and Lanre tomorrow! Also, we are in need of several volunteers for our 6.6.14 meeting including a Speaker. If you are interested in fulfilling a role during the June 6th meeting, please let us know in the morning when we confirm roles. I hope to see you all soon!
