Rewind / Fast-Forward #37 (Apr. 15-22)

Hello Sunrise Toastmasters Members and guests!

Rewind from April 15

This meeting was held at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in the North Tower (room NT102A) with 9 members present.

President Summer Murphy opened our meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance before turning the meeting over to Tim Murphy to lead as Toastmaster for the morning. With a theme “Making the Most of These Beautiful Sunny Days,” Tim shared some found wisdom on how to enjoy living (Word of the Day) the days in your life throughout the meeting.

Summer Murphy was the first speaker of the day, completing her fourth project in the Advanced Storytelling manual. She shared a beautiful story of friendship between two unlikely buddies, Dana (her daughter) and Claire. Her interesting storytelling methods enriched the topic and kept the audience interested in the special impact these girls have had on one another’s lives. The second speaker, Jenna Willingham, completed the visual aids project in the Competent Communicator manual and served breakfast all in one speech! Audience members saw firsthand how three tropical fruits can be prepared and served using safer, more effective methods.

Topicsmaster Rita Sturdivant led the group in table topics with some thought-provoking questions that tied in well to today’s theme. A special thanks to Dave Burr for evaluating the meeting in general, to Joe Stack for serving as Timer/Grammarian, and to speaker evaluators Phil Monroe and Zach Sullivan.
