My fellow Toastmasters –
A full meeting that included a visit from the Division Director, Michelle Lucas. Jenna opened the meeting before turning it over to the Toastmaster, Mike, who introduced “mistake”as his word of the day. Brian did his Icebreaker and Steve did a persuasive speech, “Legalization of Marijuana”. Dave did Table Topics, challenging the group to think about their first experiences with apartments. Lyn was General Evaluator (her first time) leading her team of Jenna and Alvin, and Phil S doing the Timer duties.
Jenna let us know that she will be moving to a new job in Asheville in a month. While we are happy for her, we will miss her deeply as well. Reflecting on her upcoming departure, we have had very few members drop of silently, but instead see them earn promotions or move to career opportunities. Toastmasters has served its purpose of better communication skills.
